About Aurora Adult Day Services

Welcome!  We are pleased that you have chosen to learn more ABOUT US!

Aurora Adult Day Services (AADS) is a community based, non-profit, non-sectarian, social model adult day program. Since 1991, we have served over 375 families who live in East Aurora and 20-25 area southtown communities.  AADS fulfills all Federal and State requirements for a social model adult day program under regulations issued by the NYS Office for the Aging.  The program is monitored through the Erie County Department of Senior Services with an annual survey.  AADS contracts with several insurance companies through the Managed Long Term Care Program. This program provides services both at home and at AADS for persons receiving Medicaid benefits. AADS is registered with the NYS Department of Charities, member of the NYS Adult Day Services Association and is associated with the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY.

Our professionally supervised program provides meaningful social, educational and recreational activities, as well as scheduled field trips, all geared to enhance self-esteem and well being for the frail elderly and adults 60 years and older.  As some of our clients are physically/mentally impaired, careful attention must be given to meet the various needs of the individual.  Personal care services include assistance with medications, mobility, transferring, eating and toileting.  Our program proudly achieves this service by having more staff than is required by State regulation.  Breakfast, a nutritional noon time meal served  through Erie County’s Stay Fit Dining Program (the same meal offered at area Senior Centers) and an afternoon snack are provided.

The program is flexible, operating five days a week, Monday thru Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  Additional hours are available with the Administrator’s approval.  The Center is housed in a beautiful, newly renovated facility with a safe outside patio. For the protection of all (clients, staff, and volunteers) the Center’s doors are secured with an alarm.

AADS is governed by a volunteer Board with advisory members composed of interested individuals, professionals, civic and business leaders.  Many of our Board members are also volunteers.  This  provides them an opportunity to monitor the quality of our program on an on-going basis.

Congratulations to all who have faithfully served our clients and families these past 20 years!  We have a wonderful heritage upon which to build for the future.
